Hey my Lovelies,
Today is World Mental Health Day! Throughout this month my aim is to carry on raising more awareness for Mental Health and being more transparent about my own struggles. I had initially planned to write an article for today but decided to keep it light for this Mental Health Awareness Day, so let’s have some fun!
I had a random thought to create a TAG and I’ve decided to name it, ‘Pick Me Up Playlist’.
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾
Rules:
- Link back to ‘Pick Me Up Playlist’ creator – Laura Spoonie
- Tag the blogger who nominated you
- Mention how music helps your Mental Health
- List 10 songs that you would consider to be a part of your ‘Pick Me Up Playlist’ (optional: mention a little bit why each song is on your list)
- Tag 10 other bloggers to join in with the ‘Pick Me Up Playlist’ Challenge
Keep this Challenge going throughout the day, build the Playlist and spread the Positivity
*If you’re nominated for this TAG don’t feel compelled to take part, it’s just to spread some joy and positivity*

What music means to me & how it has helped my Mental Health
Music has always been a massive part of my life. Since I was a wee girl I’ve always loved music; played instruments, sung, and danced. Being the daughter of two musically talented humans I guess the deep love I have for music is something that was automatically passed down to me. There are quite a lot of times when I can’t find the words to express the way I’m feeling inside, but then I put on a song and it’s being said in the most melodious way as if the artist has taken all of my current emotions and basically turned it into a 3-minute masterpiece. Without music, I wouldn’t have been able to get through some of the hardest points in my mental health journey and music has also helped me to celebrate the most joyous times of my life. I’ve found these last couple of days to be difficult but, Britney Spears has been helping me to get through this week so far. “Now I’m STRONGER than yesterday.”
No matter where you’re from or what language you speak, music always unites us all together as one. Being able to hear music and even feel a beat is a powerful feeling and something I’ll cherish for eternity!

My Pick Me Up Playlist
1) BIGGIE, P DIDDY & MASE – MO’ MONEY MO’ PROBLEMS
My all-time favourite Pick Me Up song. Pass me the mic for Biggie’s part Lol 🙊
2) TLC – WATERFALLS
About a year ago I was determined to learn Lisa Left Eye Lopes rap part of the song and I succeeded
“Believe in Yourself, the rest is up to Me & You”
3) J COLE FT TLC – CROOKED SMILE
J Cole is a favourite of mine and this song, ‘Crooked Smile’ is so uplifting with a positive message behind it that we aren’t picture perfect but… we’re still worth photographing!
4) TWISTA FT FAITH EVANS – HOPEFUL
An inspirational song from an inspirational movie – Coach Carter
5) PARAMORE – AINT IT FUN
FUN FUN FUN
6) SPICE GIRLS – SPICE UP YOUR LIFE
“When you’re feeling sad & low. We will take you where you wanna go”!
The Spice Girls will always be fantastic, don’t you worry about what this new generation say. They’re unfortunate to not experience music like how we did!
7) LAURYN HILL – (EVERYTHING SHE’S EVER DONE)
Literally, everything she’s done is a masterpiece. Whether it’s a track where she’s rapping, singing or both she always gets me in my feelings
4) H.E.R – LET ME IN
H.E.R a.k.a Gabbie Wilson she’s A-MAY-ZING !!
9) MICHAEL JACKSON – YOU ROCK MY WORLD
Literally my favourite Michael Jackson song of all time!!!!
10) MARIAH CAREY – FANTASY
My favourite of all time singer!!!
Always feel like I’m in the funfair eating candyfloss when I hear this song

H.E.R is really saving this generation from embarrassment due to the lack of talent, Lol I say that in the nicest way!!
